Herault 2011
We just got back from two fantastic weeks diving and caving in the Herault. The trip was organised by Christine Grosart and it was somewhat unique in that we were a bigger group than the usual gang I have been on so many dive trips before. The names of the participants together with a detailed real time trip report and more pictures can be found on Christine’s blog. However I thought I add my own memories here and write a few words down. All the topos here are courtesy of the fantastic plongeesout.com. Pictures as always are Joe's credit who is ...
Florida April 2009
During our trip in November Matt and me had spoken to Jarrod about doing Cave 2 with him and after we fixed a time slot to suit everybody we were all set for the course. Now the two of us wanted to do this class since a while as we really started to stretch our limits and it was certainly time to get to see a bit more cave. Originally we thought we could sneak in the course in November as Chris Le Maillot was over for the conference and said he could teach us in Florida but in the end ...
Florida March 2010
After a couple of trips to France it was time to do some warm water diving again. Matt and Joe decided on a trip to Florida and after not much persuasion from them I agreed to join. Warm temperatures, sun shine and stunning cave diving how could I not......Or so I thought. In the weeks before it turned out that Florida had its worst winter since years with cold wind, rain and major floods everywhere. This was not a good start and we started to prepare for diving in Ginnie Springs all week. This time we took a direct flight to Tampa ...
France, Lot June
After a long winter break and several delays we finally managed to get together for a week cave diving in France. The usual group consisted of Andy, Matt, Joe and myself. We actually meant to go a month earlier but since I was stuck on a boat off Mexico the guys were kind enough to reschedule and in the end I managed to get back from work just a day before we left. Hectic life as usual…. Unfortunately this meant that Andre did not have an apartment for us during the week so we stayed close by which worked out ...
OFD1 Dip Sump
I had been back in the UK for a while recently and most importantly the weather was it's best in March so I got a fair bit of caving and diving done during the last month. A while ago we did a nice caving trip in the massive cave system of OFD in Wales (my trip report is here) and Dip Sump, located at the end of the streamway in OFD 1, has been a long time dive target of mine. Christine wanted to do some filming in Dip Sump for her new cave diving movie so finally we sorted a trip ...
About Me

I started diving at the young age of eleven during a Red Sea Holiday in 1993.
I immediately fell in love with it and kept diving whenever I could.
I became a diving instructor in 2000 and moved to the Red Sea where I worked as a full time instructor. My passion for diving and the sea in general made me move to the UK in 2002 where I studied Underwater Science and quickly started to develop an interest for wreck diving.
As a Hydrographic Surveyor I am involved in seabed mapping around the globe and have taken part in several in professional underwater Archaeological projects in Europe and Asia.
Whilst living in the UK I started dry caving and soon enough got interested to explore underwater caves as well. Little did I know back then how addictive cave diving is and nowadays I spend a lot of my free time underground whether diving or dry caving.
Apart from my own diving I love to teach other divers and share my passion with them. I have been teaching divers for more than 10 years and enjoy passing my knowledge and experience on to my students.
Best,
Os
